Dig deep on our Topics:

The leadership skills that got you to the present will not get you to the future. If you’re trying to figure out why the people you lead or teach are not performing at the level you expect, blame the system, not the people.

Look for places where the system is designed to control what they’re allowed to do and how they do it. Then, surrender that control and watch people thrive. Those who excel will be the ones who develop their ability to create an environment that releases people from that fear that holds them back.

To thrive in continued uncertainty, we need everyone to believe that it’s better to take a chance than to hide themselves.

We need people willing to share their thoughts and try out new ideas. When we fear making a mistake more than we fear missing out on an opportunity, we hold ourselves back.

At least two things have been changing over the past few decades: technology and people. New technologies used to take decades to change industries, now those transformations can happen in months. Then, partly because of those new technologies, and largely as a result of demographic shifts in our populations – people have changed to the point at which individuals have more influence now in the marketplace and in the workplace.

To start activating capacity in a hybrid environment we need to give people ways to share who they really are, explore what they can do, and ask for what they need, all with the confidence that their vulnerability will be honored and rewarded.

No matter what product or service you provide, as an employer you are also in the business of health. If you approach these responsibilities with inclusion, you will harness a powerful strategy for growth.

To elevate our commitment to health and well-being, we need to go beyond regulated benefits to make health and wellbeing meaningful to individuals at scale. We can’t do that until people trust that it’s safe and beneficial to share who they truly are and what they’re grappling with in their lives.

Inclusion is the most essential skill today. It requires that we interrupt our auto-pilot beliefs about who belongs where, doing what and how. It’s not just about who gets hired or promoted. It’s also about how people are allowed to grow, to collaborate, to experiment, and to contribute.

A culture of inclusion requires a mindset to see opportunity, anticipate the unexpected, unleash passionate pursuits, live with an entrepreneurial spirit, work with a generous purpose, and lead to leave a legacy.
